Senior Design Coach Testimonials
"The University of Nebraska and School of Computing have prepared the students for work in the field of computer science and engineering. My job as a coach is to help translate academic work into a 'real world' development project. Experience with software engineering is not necessary to be an effective coach, in fact, the students will be leading all technical decisions along with their sponsor. I help the students navigate communication within their team and sponsor, provide feedback on technical presentations, help translate stakeholder expectations into development work, and much more. I enjoy working with the students and seeing their projects go from an idea, to prototype, to deliverable over the course of the school year."

Senior Design Coach Orientation Overview
Senior Design is UNL’s two-semester capstone where teams of students work on real, industry-sponsored or faculty-led projects using agile methods.
A Coach is an industry mentor who provides guidance in teamwork, communication, project management, and technology. Coaches are non-grading, supportive resources for students.
Coaches meet about 1–2 hours per week and help students navigate their first major, real-world engineering project.
