The Informatics and Algorithmic Foundations (IAF) group of faculty from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is organizing “NeDA2016 - 1st Nebraska Data Analytics Workshop.”

Business, government, and non-profit organizations face increasingly important challenges in data analytics. Simultaneously, research in data analytics at is growing and seeking new opportunities for collaboration, especially on significant real-world problems with rich collections of data.
The goal of this workshop is to explore collaborations for data analytics between CSE faculty and regional organizations (collectively referred to as stakeholders). In particular, it will bring together IAF group of faculty and regional organizations to discuss emerging challenges, solutions, and opportunities in data analytics.
The workshop will begin at 9:00 a.m. The main agenda includes 13 short presentations by the stakeholders sharing their experience in data analytics. In addition, Sri Shanmugasundaram, Executive Architect of IBM North America Analytics Center will give a Keynote Talk "IBM Industry Experience." We will also have three breakout sessions discussing issues including workforce development, technical challenges, and community development. This workshop is aimed to meet one of the long-term goals of IAF group which is to create a dynamic environment that fosters collaboration among the stakeholders for the benefit of the state’s competitiveness in data analytics.
