Initialize is a group dedicated to using computing skills to give back to the Lincoln community. This club’s activities include mentoring Girl Scouts at coding camps, teaching robotics concepts to Lincoln middle schoolers, and building new software for local nonprofits.

Computing for All is the university’s chapter of ACM-W, an organization committed to advocating for women in the tech industry. Our chapter has expanded its efforts to include promoting diversity of all kinds, and welcomes anyone and everyone into our computing community.

The School of Computing Student Advisory Board is committed to helping the school improve and making student voices heard by faculty, staff and leaders. Join this group to plan events and panel discussions once per semester.

CornHacks aims to bring some of the most talented developers from around the Midwest to join in a weekend full of hacking. Hosted at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, over 150 participants will code all day and night to be assessed by industry professionals and compete for several prizes.

The Game Development Club is for aspiring video game creators and enthusiasts. The group develops ongoing team projects, competes in game development competitions, and hosts speakers from the video game industry.

The Operating Systems & Open-Source Group (OS2G) is a club for users of Linux and other Free and Open-Source Software (FOSS) to meet, socialize, and learn from one another. This group hosts events to introduce new members to the world of FOSS and enhance their computer literacy, covering a wide range of topics including server administration, data science, cybersecurity, computer hardware, and programming languages.

The Society of Women Engineers aims to stimulate women to achieve full potential in careers as engineers and leaders, to expand the image of the engineering profession as a positive force in improving the quality of life, and to demonstrate the value of diversity.

Our chapter of the Association for Computing Machinery sponsors presentations by industry representatives, conducts programming contests, organizes social events, and elects representatives to active roles in the school.
