NeDA 2017: 2nd Nebraska Data Analytics Workshop: Bringing Stakeholders Together


The Informatics and Algorithmic Foundations (IAF) group of faculty from the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln is organizing “NeDA2017 - 2nd Nebraska Data Analytics Workshop.”

The goal of the 2017 Nebraska Data Analytics Workshop (NeDA 2017) is to strengthen interdisciplinary informatics at the University of Nebraska. The workshop will host presentations and discussions on current methodologies in informatics, algorithms, statistics, and data analytics and their applications to agriculture, physical sciences, life sciences, humanities, engineering, business, education, social sciences, and other fields. The workshop will provide perspectives on current informatics and data analytics activities at the university and explore opportunities, emerging challenges, and novel solutions for new collaborations in research, education, and outreach.


The workshop will begin at 8:45 a.m. The main agenda includes overviews from the CSE Department and the Department of Statistics on faculty participation in data analytics. In addition, Professor Shashi Shekhar, from the University of Minnesota, will give a Keynote Talk. We will also have two parallel tracks, with three sessions in each track with panelists presenting their work and leading discussions on issues and challenges, experiences and advances in interdisciplinary areas of data analytics. The workshop is expected to end by 3:30 p.m.  See Workshop Agenda for details.


This workshop is aimed to meet one of the long-term goals of IAF group which is to create a dynamic environment that fosters collaboration among the researchers and practitioners for the benefit of the university's and state's competitiveness in data analytics.
