A recent paper written by CSE faculty and graduate students has been cited as one of the Top 10 Most Downloaded Articles by Ad Hoc Networks Journal.

The paper, “Internet of Underground Things in Precision Agriculture: Architecture and Technology Aspect,” was published in December. It was co-authored three members of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering: associate professor Mehmet Can Vuran, Ph.D. graduate Abdul Salam, and Ph.D. student Rigoberto Wong. The paper was also co-authored by biological systems engineering professor Suat Irmak.

The paper focuses on research being conducted in the Cyber-Physical Networking Lab, particularly the exploration of how the Internet of Underground Things can be used to solve agricultural issues around the world. It also examines the theory and applications of underground wireless communication to efficiently manage and streamline the use of farming equipment.

The paper was cited as one of the most downloaded articles from Ad Hoc Networks in the last 90 days. This is especially significant since the paper has only been available since December.

Ad Hoc Networks is an international and archival journal providing a publication vehicle for complete coverage of all topics of interest to those involved in ad hoc and sensor networking areas.

Congratulations to our researchers on this outstanding achievement!
