The School of Computing is hosting a showcase event on Thursday, Oct. 22 from 3:30 to 6 p.m. in the Scott Engineering Center.

This event will offer attendees the chance explore the School of Computing’s and Holland Computing Center’s state-of-the-art research and scientific computing facilities and discover how computing drives innovation across modern society. Students will tour new research labs and computing centers in Nebraska Hall and the Scott Engineering Center, where they will meet faculty, graduate students, and researchers addressing real-world challenges in artificial intelligence, cyber-physical systems, wireless communications, cybersecurity, robotics, cloud and scientific computing, high-performance computing, virtual and augmented reality, and other immersive technologies.

Through demonstrations of cutting-edge technologies and discussions about current research projects, students will gain firsthand insight into how computing is applied to solve complex problems in engineering, science, and society. Participants will also learn about research opportunities, internships, and careers in computing, while developing a broader understanding of the many pathways available within computing majors.

Participating labs include the Dynamic Reality Lab, the Living Digital Systems Lab, the NIMBUS Lab, the Cyber-Physical Networking (CPN) Lab, and the Security, Wireless, and Ad-hoc Networks (SWAN) Lab.
