School of Computing Associate Professor Rahul Purandare has joined the editorial board of IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering (TSE) as an associate editor.
IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering is a monthly peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the IEEE Computer Society that explores well-defined theoretical results and empirical studies that have potential impact on the construction, analysis, or management of software. The scope of the publication ranges from the mechanisms through the development of principles to the application of those principles to specific environments. It is considered the leading software engineering journal in the field.
“This new role provides me an opportunity to collaborate with the journal's eminent editorial board members and interact directly with its expert reviewers,” Purandare said. “The role comes with many responsibilities, including finding eligible reviewers, making overall assessments of manuscripts followed by recommendations, and assisting the editor-in-chief in the management of the review process with the ultimate goal of maintaining high research standards and ensuring an efficient review process.”
Purandare received his Ph.D. in computer science from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in 2011 and joined the School of Computing as a faculty member in 2022. He is primarily interested in program analysis and combining program analysis with deep learning to solve software engineering problems. His research has appeared in the proceedings of several reputed conferences and prestigious journals, including TSE and ACM Transactions on Software Engineering and Methodologies (TOSEM). He is also on TOSEM's board of distinguished reviewers and the review board of Automated Software Engineering (ASE) journal.
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers is the world's largest technical professional organization for the advancement of technology for the benefit of humanity.
